Renowned Saudi photographer Khalid Khadir inaugurated here yesterday an exhibition titled “Kingdom in the Eyes of Female Photographers” and hosted at the Saudi Center for Fine Arts. As many as 50 female photographers are taking part in this show organized by the Ministry of Information and Culture as part of its role for increasing people’s awareness on the importance of arts and culture. Female Saudi photographers, who have taken pictures depicting the Saudi heritage and the country’s traditions, are taking part. Following the official opening of the show, Khadir said the exhibits reflect phases of the Kingdom’s culture and heritage. He also said that photography is becoming popular in Saudi Arabia and this popularity is mainly attributed to the government’s support and role of Saudi societies for art and culture. Khadir also paid tribute to the role of the Ministry of Information and Culture in the organization of such art exhibitions that depict the real picture of Saudi Arabia. He also stressed the need for holding similar exhibitions abroad. Among the female photographers who were awarded prizes in this exhibition were, Nagla Ahmed, Abrar Omar, Nora Al-Namla, Abrar Bakr, Zainab Bokhamsin and Azizah Al-Garni.
