Kuwait''s Ambassador to the UK Khaled Al-Duwaisan saidon Thursday that the Center for Research and Studies on Kuwait (CRSK) is highlycommended for its significant role in highlighting Kuwaiti heritage and culture as itis one of key sources for researchers interested in Kuwait''s modern andcontemporary history. The Center is also lauded for its efforts in analyzing historical studies anddocuments that prove Kuwait''s independency and sovereignty, Al-Duwaisan, toldKUNA after visiting CRSK''s section at the 43rd London International Book Fair,which kicked off on April 8.A-Duwaisan, who is also the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in London, expressed hisjoy for the Kuwaiti participation at the three-day Fair, which is to conclude today,stressing at the time importance of such participation at these major internationalevents in order to shed light on Kuwait''s history, culture, and heritage, as well asthe country''s current intellectual prosperity.For her part, Layla bin Salama, head of CRSK section at the fair, said that theCenter''s participation is due to encouragement and support by Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghunaim, CRSK''s Chairman, meeting the Center''s desired goals of giving anexposure to Kuwait''s old history in the region, civilization of its people, and itsconstitutional pioneering.Taking part at such major fairs, is an "important opportunity" to meet with culturalelites from all around the world, bin Salama, who is also a researcher at CRSK, toldKUNA, adding that the CRSK section has attracted the attention of a number ofpublishers, printing presses owners, and college students in London.Despite participating for the first time at London Book Fair, the positive feedbackthe CRSK section received from the Fair''s visitors is something to take pride in, shecontinued. The CRSK delegation at the 43rd Book Fair included Layla bin Salama and Nora Al-Nami, CRSK''s section supervisor.The London International Book Fair had seen participation by over 1,500 publishersfrom 60 countries, including Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, Qatar, Oman, UAE,most European countries, USA, China, Japan, India, Malaysia, and South Korea.
