Muscat - BNA

Jabal Shams Challenge 2017 will be launched on April 28 with the aim of promoting Oman as a hub for adventure lovers and sportsmen from different parts of the world.
The challenge, which co-organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Husaak Team, will be held at Jabal Shams, the highest mountain top in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region; about 3,000 square metres high. Participants from the different age groups and nationalities will take part at the challenge, according to Oman News Agency (ONA).

Ali Hussein, Husaak Adventure Manager said more than 200 participants took part at the last version of the challenge and hopefully the number will increase for the upcoming edition. He pointed out that the event aims at promoting the rich tourism potentials of the Sultanate, such as mountains, plains, beaches and deserts, which qualify the Sultanate to become a hub for sports and adventure activities.
