Prague - Sana

The ruins and archeology in the northeastern region of Syria were the focus of a photography exhibition held on Thursday in Brno, the second largest city in Czech. 12 large-sized photos are being displayed in the exhibition, which were taken in 2010 in Tal Arbeed in northwestern Syria during excavation works conducted by a Czech team from Masaryk University in Brno. The exhibition, lasting a month, was organized by the gathering of Czech archaeology experts in the area of Mesopotamia, in cooperation with the Department of Archeology at Masaryk University. Radka Sidlakova, who is in charge of the exhibition, said in a statement to SANA correspondent that the aim of the exhibition is "to present a realistic picture of the ordinary life of Syrian citizens living in the northeastern region of Syria." "It also aims at introducing people to the excavation works being conducted by the Czech archeology mission in Syria since 2005," Sidlakova added, noting that these excavations focus on the lifestyle which prevailed in the area around 8 thousand years ago.
