Under the auspices of HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr. Hamad Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari, the Ministry's Heritage Department held at the Heritage village the Garangao Night. The celebration was attended by big crowd which enjoyed the different activities presented during the event.
The activities presented at the Heritage Village were coincided with activities held at Doha City Centre, Land Mark and Villagio shopping malls to mark this traditional occasion.
Children who participated in the Heritage Village celebration activities, came wearing Qatari traditional outfits and performed the famous Garangao traditional song. They were also given Garangao-themed gifts.
Director of Heritage Department Hamad Hamdan Al-Mohannadi described the event as distinguished. Children are the core of organizing such an event, he said adding that they were involved in all the activities during the celebration in the Heritage Village.
Al-Mohannadi said that among the main purposes of holding the event is educating Children on Qatari traditional heritage, explaining that the event was organized for all the children residing in Qatar.
He also pointed to the role of families in passing heritage to the young generations and the importance of incorporating it in the educational process.
