Scrutiny is must when choosing Imams to represent Azhar abroad

Secretary General of the Islamic Research Academy (IRA) Mohyiddin Afifi on Sunday stressed the
importance of scrutiny when it comes to choosing imams who would represent Azhar abroad.
The imams have to pass an oral examination after passing another written one, Afifi said.
He added that the candidates would take training courses in history, geography and culture of the countries to which they will be sent.
He made these remarks in a meeting with applicants of the annual competition for choosing Imams who would represent Azhar abroad.
