Tayyeb optimistic about timing of Mawlid, Christmas

Grand Imam of Al Azhar Dr. Ahmed el Tayyeb said on Tuesday that he is optimistic because the Mawlid al Nabawi and Christmas celebrations came almost at the same time this year.
Al Azhar and the church are one hand, Tayyeb said during his visit to the Cathedral to greet Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria on Christmas.
Both are places of worship, Tayyeb said, adding that cooperation between the two institutions through the Family House is bearing fruit.
The pope was happy to receive Tayyeb.
Such visits "make us even happier", the pope said, adding they reflect citizenship and good feelings among Egyptians
