Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Chairman of the Economic Development Board, the third edition of the Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship will be held tomorrow.

The ceremony is positioned as the platform to honor and celebrate the achievements and efforts of entrepreneurs in Bahrain. A total of seven winners across all categories will be announced during the awards ceremony, who are vying for the title along with a total of BD150,000 in cash prizes and other key rewards and benefits.

The third edition of the award aims to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit and stimulate innovation across all business sectors to achieve economic development within the framework of the Kingdom’s Economic Vision 2030.

The prestigious award also aims to support the growth of this budding sector including the growth and development of SME’s as well as paving the way for strong a partnerships between the public and private sectors.

So far, the award has honored 14 outstanding business leaders during the first two editions and received an outstanding 200 applicants. The award embodies Tamkeen’s efforts to achieve the Kingdom’s Economic Vision 2030 by consolidating the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovative thinking towards economic diversification and raising the standard of living and creating jobs and investments in the Kingdom.

The award aims to create and encourage the entrepreneurial culture in the Kingdom through developing the skills of the winners. This will be achieved through the training workshops and benefits that will be offered to the winners which will enable them to further succeed with their endeavors.

The organizing committee has already announced earlier this year that winners will be awarded with cash prizes up to BD40,000 in addition to other rewards and benefits.

The Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship is organized by Tamkeen in association with its’ strategic partners including the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism, Economic Development Board, the Bahrain Development Bank, the Bahrain Chamber of Industry and Commerce, as well as its’ knowledge advisors, the Arab International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Investment – Office of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) for Investment and Technology in Bahrain, and EY Bahrain.
