The World Heritage Committee has inscribed a total of 25 sites on UNESCO's World Heritage List, including three natural properties, 21 cultural and one mixed site, according to a statement issued by the Paris-based UN cultural branch on Tuesday. After days of consultation and consideration, the World Heritage List is prolonged this year to number 936 properties, including 183 natural sites, 725 cultural sites and 28 mixed. The World Heritage Committee, responsible for the implementation of the World Heritage Convention, adds new sites to the List each year. This year, a total of 35 nominations, including natural, cultural and mixed properties have been reviewed by the Committee during the 10-day meeting starting from June 19. As to the World Heritage List in Danger, Indonesia's Tropical Rainforest Heritage of Sumatra and Rio Platano Biosphere Reserve in Honduras were added to it and India's Manas Wildlife Sanctuary was removed from that list thanks for its improved conservation.
