With the participation of hundreds of creative children and official and civil personalities, activities of the World Children's Day kicked off on Saturday in al-Sweida province. The activities included two painting exhibitions for children who won the contest of the Culture Directorate for the year 2012, showcasing the paintings of the children at the temporary residential centers in al-Sweida. The activities also included workshops with the participation of some 160 children and a puppet theater to teach the industry and animation of puppets. Director of Children's Culture Department at the Ministry of Culture, Malak Yassin, pointed out that this activity has become an annual tradition marked every year in one of Syria's provinces within the framework of the psychological support programs in 20 temporary residential centers in Damascus, 4 in Tartous, 2 in Sweida and 5 in Lattakia. In statements to SANA , the Children expressed happiness for taking part in the activities of the World Children's Day, noting that they have benefitted from the workshops. The World Children's Day activities will last till July 10th.
