The firstzombie walk was held in Pittsburgh, US, in 2006 where writer and director George Romero filmed Dawn of the Dead. One of the organizers of the event told the Anadolu Agency that up to two thousand people registered with them to join Saturday's event. As well as being scary and creepy, zombies also draw attention to hunger and homeless all around the world. Many zombies who arrived London's Marble Arch also brought food with them to donate to homeless during Saturday's event. After gathering in Marble Arch, people in zombie costumes and wearing zombie make-ups headed to Oxford Street. Londoners shopping around were surprised and some were scared to see zombies walking in the city. Tourists paid great attention to the living zombies of London as well.
