Cairo Governor Galal Saeed took part in Christmas celebrations of the Armenian Catholic denomination and the Episcopal Church.
On Friday, the governor, a presidency delegate, representatives of Al Azhar grand imam and the interior minister, ambassadors and awqaf and Azhar figures, paid a visit to the Armenian Catholic Church in Abdine district to greet Bishop Krikor Augustine Kusa, the bishop of Alexandria for Catholic Armenians in Egypt, on the occasion.
The governor said Egypt will remain a safe country for all Egyptians.
The governor lauded strong bonds binding Egypt's Christians and Muslims, hoping that feasts would be a new chance to spread love, peace and stability in the world.
The governor, along with British Ambassador to Egypt John Casson, also visited All Saints' Cathedral in Zamalek district on Thursday to offer Christmas greetings to Bishop Mouneer Hanna Anis.
The Coptic Catholic, Greek Catholic, Roman Catholic, Assyrian, Maronite, Caledonian and Episcopal Churches in Egypt celebrate Christmas on December 25.
Coptic Orthodox Christians – who comprise 90 percent of Egypt's Christians – will break their 43-day fast and celebrate Christmas on January 7.
