Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab held a meeting Thursday with a number of political parties and powers for consultations on election laws.
The meetings will continue with different political powers to get acquainted with everyone's vision on the laws, the premier said during the meeting.
The state is very serious to hold the parliamentary elections, the third and final leg of the political roadmap, he added.
Mahlab said he was keen to reach political and national consensus on the file.
All the proposals will be compiled and submitted to the committee assigned with drafting the election laws, the transitional justice minister, who was present at the meeting, said.
In early March, the Supreme Constitutional Court, Egypt’s top court, had annulled two articles in the elections law, delaying the lower house polls which were planned to take place in March and April.
The court had also issued a ruling allowing persons with dual citizenship to run in the parliamentary polls, which was banned under the terms set out in the constitution.
It earlier had ruled that an article governing the division of electoral constituencies was unconstitutional.
