EU special envoy for Middle East peace arrives in Gaza

European Union (EU) Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process Fernando Gentilini arrived here on Thursday via Erez crossing controlled by the Israeli forces.
During his first visit to the Gaza Strip, Gentilini is expected to meet with a number of officials with the Palestinian unity government and some officials of the international agencies working there as well as senior figures of the non governmental organizations.
Recently, many European officials and diplomats paid visits to the enclave with the aim of discussing the issue of the Gaza reconstruction and getting acquainted with the harsh humanitarian situation on the ground.
