Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
The minister also conveyed the leadership’s appreciation of the efforts exerted by President Abbas at various forums and at all levels to restore all the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people as well as the leadership wishes for the success of those efforts.
In his turn, President Abbas conveyed his sincere greetings to His Majesty the King, HRH the Prime Minister and HRH the Crown Prince and took pride in the stances of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which has never hesitated to support the Palestinian people and back up their cause and rights.
Shaikh Khalid affirmed that the Middle East region will not enjoy genuine peace without a just comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause, on the basis of the two-states solution, relevant international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
He said the ought solution should guarantee the establishment of a Palestinian state on 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, pointing out the need for further regional and international efforts to achieve this settlement, which is in the interest of all countries and peoples of the region.
