Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met on Friday with his Bulgarian counterpart Daniel Mitov and discussed bilateral relations and regional issues of mutual concern.
The meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the Rhodes Conference for Security and Stability, focused on the situation in Syria, Iraq and Libya, as well as efforts to counter terrorism, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.
Mitov invited Shoukry to visit Sofia, Abu Zeid said. Shoukry accepted the invitation and stressed the need to start preparing for meetings of the joint technical committee ahead of the visit, the spokesman added.
