Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa met today the Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Anne W. Patterson, the Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labour, Tom Malinowski, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Peninsula Affairs, Susan L. Ziadeh, and the accompanying delegation.
The Minister welcomed the members of the US delegation, currently on a visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and stressed the depth of the strategic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America which received due care at all levels, while it is witnessing growth and progress in all domains.
Shaikh Khalid lauded the recurring reciprocal visits between officials of both countries in order to boost cooperation which eventually reflects on enhancing the common interests and consolidating the levels of coordination on different issues, highlighting the most recent visit of the US Secretary of State John Kerry to the Kingdom.
The members of the US delegation expressed their pleasure to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain, stressing the United States resolve to promote cooperation, coordination, and understanding with the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as commended the vital role the Kingdom played in the security and stability of the region, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
Talks also touched on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
