Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani received Australian Ambassador for Counter Terrorism Miles Armitage, currently on visit to Saudi Arabia. The meeting focused on the efforts exerted by the international community to combat the scourge of terrorism, in addition to ways of strengthening cooperation to bolster regional security.
Dr. Al-Zayani stressed the GCC states' keenness resolve to pursue political, diplomatic and security efforts to combat terrorist organisations, dry up their sources of finance and root out their extremist mantra which deviates from the true Islamic teachings of moderation and tolerance.
