President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) arrived in the White House, here, on Monday afternoon, to hold a bilateral talk focusing on four issues with President Barack Obama.
"The first issue is on Indonesia as the largest Muslim nation in the world, and at the same time as the largest democracy in the world. As a tolerant and pluralistic nation, Indonesia is ready to play a bridging role," Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, said before the bilateral meeting between the two presidents.
The second issue is on Indonesias open economic policy and the country is eager to intensify economic cooperation with the US and the world in general.
The third issue is on Indonesia as the largest digital market in Southeast Asia, with the value of digital market reaching US$12 billion in 2014, a significant hike from US$8 billion in 2013.
The fourth issue is on the impacts of climate change.
Several state officials accompanying President Jokowis first working visit to the US include Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution, Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, Communication and Information Minister Rudiantara, Trade Minister Thomas Lembong, and Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Franky Sibarani.
