Jordanian Monarch meets Russian atomic official

King Abdullah II of Jordan met here on Wednesday with head of Russia's State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom) Sergei Kiriyenko, who is currently visiting Jordan.
During the meeting, Jordanian King stressed the importance of promoting cooperation between Jordan's Atomic Energy Commission and the Russian corporation, which resulted yesterday in the signing the inter-governmental agreement between the two sides to build and operate the first nuclear power plant.
For his part, Kiriyenko assured his country's desire to increase the number of scholarships for Jordanian students in various fields of science and knowledge in the nuclear energy sector to thirty grants annually.
