Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al Abadi met on Friday with visiting US Secretary of State John Kerry.
Kerry underlined the US full support for Iraq in its war against terrorism as well as the importance of a political settlement in the country.
He further said that the US backs Abadi's reform program at the political and economic levels.
The US strongly stands by Iraq to overcome the economic challenges it is currently facing, Kerry told reporters.
According to the media office of the Iraqi prime minister, the meeting tackled means of boosting bilateral ties and the international support for Iraq in its anti-terrorism war.
