Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Sohail Mehmood called on the Secretary General of South Asian Association for regional cooperation (SAARC), Amjad Hussain B.Sial, during the latter’s visit to India, says a press release received here Friday from India.
During the meeting, matters related to the SAARC process and promotion of its goals and objectives were discussed.
High Commissioner Sohail Mahmood reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to keep working to strengthen SAARC as an effective instrument of regional cooperation in South Asia.
Secretary General Amjad Sial was in India to attend the inaugural session of the International Conference of Women Entrepreneurs on Andhra Pradesh, from January 17 to 19, 2018.
Established in 1985, SAARC is among the primary organizations for regional cooperation in Asia.
Pakistan is among the founding members of SAARC, which also includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives and Sri Lanka.
