Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday met with Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende, currently on a visit to Ramallah.
President Abbas briefed the Norwegian minister on the latest developments in the Palestinian territories and the peace process, Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
Abbas stressed the Palestinian side's openness to all international efforts aiming to save the political process but he noted that the Israeli government works to thwart these efforts through its insistence on continuing settlement policy and recognizing international legitimacy resolutions.
In turn, the Norwegian minister reiterated his country's support for the peace process based on the two-state solution.
