The fifth edition of the Arab Future Cities Summit began Monday in Qatar, under the patronage of Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti and Minister of Municipality and Environment Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi.
The summit will discuss over the next two days all aspects related to smart city adoption. The summit will also highlight innovative approaches to deliver more efficient and sustainable services to its citizens. The event will attract over 450 delegates from across industries.
The Minister of Transport and Communications opened the summit with a welcome address. He said that the State of Qatar had a clear plan to develop the transport and communications sector in light of Qatar National Vision 2030. He highlighted that the State of Qatar is making big investment in infra structure, part of which is directed towards establishing smart cities.
In concluding his speech, the Minister said that the ministry's mission is to develop the transport and communications infrastructure and equip them with the latest technology, according to Qatar News Agency (QNA).
