Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has held a meeting with his South African counterpart Jacob Zuma on the sidelines of the BRICS summit, currently in session here, Nile News TV channel reported on Tuesday.
During his speech at the session of dialogue between the emerging markets and developing countries, Sisi asserted earlier today that the world is confronting immense challenges that require collective action to be addressed.
Egypt agrees with the BRICS vision on the necessity of providing the required funding for improving the basic infrastructure, Sisi stressed.
The BRICS summit brings together the five fast-growing economies, who are seeking a greater say in world affairs.
The Shanghai-based BRICS group comprises the large fast-growing nations Brazil, Russia, India, China and recent member South Africa.
The grouping has progressively realized its development agenda and made a significant contribution to the steady and consistent growth of the world economy.
