Azhar grand imam meets Norway ambassador
The Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed El Tayyeb
Cairo - MENA
Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb met on Sunday with Norwegian Ambassador in Cairo Tor Wennesland on the occasion of the expiry of his tenure here.
Wennesland said his country values a role played by Azhar to spread social peace and tolerance in the whole world.
He further called for cooperation between the Norwegian government and Azhar to fight the extremist thoughts.
Tayyeb, for his part, praised the effective role played by Wennesland during his tenure in Cairo and wished him success in his new post as Norway's special envoy to the Middle East region.
