Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab on Tuesday received a delegation from the American Jewish Committee (AJC) currently visiting here.
The delegation offered condolences to Egypt over the assassination of Prosecutor General Hesham Barakat and the victims of Sinai terror attacks.
The AJC delegation also stressed support for Egypt in its war against terrorism.
Cabinet spokesman Hossam Qawish said the meeting dealt with most important developments in Egypt after the January 25 revolution and the Muslim Brotherhood's flagrant transgressions on the safety and security of the country and citizens.
The Egyptian people refused to change the tolerant Egyptian identity and took part in June 30 revolution for this reason, Mahlab told the delegation.
Egypt, despite terrorism currently facing the country, has launched giant development projects, Mahlab added.
There is a feeling of stability, security and economic improvement compared with previous years, the Prime Minister said.
He added that the government makes greet efforts in economic and social reform to push economic growth, improve living standards and create jobs for young people.
The delegation said that they are following with interest the government's efforts to confront terrorism, achieve positive steps in economic reform, implement a social justice program, and launch several giant projects.
The delegation also hailed the accomplishments achieved at the security and economic levels, the spokesman said.
They also appreciated the clear vision of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in running the country and restoring stability to Egypt.
The two sides also discuss the Palestinian crisis.
The prime minister said the Palestinian cause must be solved according to international terms of references to achieve the Palestinian people's hopes to establish an independent state and encourage the Israeli leadership to proceed on the peace route.
Mahlab described the Egyptian-US relations as strategic and said they should be developed in the different fields.
The American Jewish Committee (AJC) was established in 1906 as an international advocacy organization working on eliminating anti-Semitism and all forms of bigotry worldwide.
