Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet on Tuesday with US National Security Advisor John Bolton to hear clarifications on many topics, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
"The president will meet with Bolton on Tuesday," Peskov said. "The meeting will be important, clarififications will have to be heard on a great number of topics," he adding noting that "there are many more questions than answers."
On Monday, Bolton met with Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev. Talks lasted for five hours and concerns issues of Russian-US bilateral relations, matters of strategic stability and global security, disarmament and arms control, acute regional crises. The press service of the Russian Security Council described the meeting was business-like and constructive.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also held talks with Bolton on Monday. Consultations lasted for 90 minutes behind closed doors. The sides did not make any statements before or after the meeting.
Peskov said earlier that the Kremlin hopes to receive clarifications from John Bolton on US President Donald Trump's statements about withdrawal from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty.
