Vice-President of the Republic. Hassabo Mohamed Abdel Rahman, will arrive in Brazzaville, capital of the Republic of the Congo, on Friday leading the high-level delegation to participate in the third meeting of the African Union High Level Committee on Libya, which will be held at the level of heads of state on Saturday September, 9. To discuss the reconciliation and restoration of stability and peace in Libya .
The meeting, which will be attended by a number of Libyan leaders, aims to overcome the political stalemate that hinders the completion of the implementation of the Skhirat Agreement and push forward the national reconciliation efforts in the country under the various initiatives proposed by the African Union, Arab League and the United Nations. To reach a settlement acceptable to all Libyan parties .
SUNA indicates that the committee headed by the President of the Republic of the Congo, Denis Sassou Nguesso, was established at the initiative of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union during the meeting of African Foreign Ministers in New York in September 2014 with the aim of supporting the restoration of security and peace in Libya.
The committee includes Niger, Mauritania, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Africa, as well as the neighboring countries of Libya, Sudan, Chad, Egypt, Algeria and Tunis .
