French President Francois Hollande said Prime Minister Manuel Valls will head to the Palestinian territories in May to discuss fostering mutual ties and the peace process.

Hollande was speaking in a press conference after meeting with his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas in Paris on Friday.

Hollande also expressed his concern over the security situation in the Palestinian territories and Israel.

He asserted that France aims to gather the international community to push forward the peace process and to guarantee implementing it within a certain schedule.

They also discussed the latest developments in the Middle East especially the Syrian crisis and refugees.

Abbas is on a three-day visit to Paris in which he is accompanied with a number of senior officials.
