A Belgian delegation will visit Cairo early next year to discuss means of boosting economic cooperation between Belgium and Egypt, Trade and Industry Minister Tareq Qabil said on Friday.
During a meeting with Belgian Ambassador to Egypt Sibille de Cartier, Qabil said the Belgian delegation's visit will help pump more investments into the Egyptian market through making using of available investment opportunities.
The government has taken serious steps to implement a comprehensive economic reform program that depends on creating an attractive investment climate for local and foreign investors, he noted.
The Belgian diplomat, for her part, said her country is keen on boosting economic ties with Egypt, revealing that many Belgian companies expressed their desire to invest in Egypt in the coming period, especially in the Suez Canal corridor.
Belgian investments in Egypt stand at 400 million euros that are put into 178 projects in the fields of engineering, construction, food, tourism, agriculture and services, she said.
