Ali Larter says she is excited to star in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.
The 39-year-old actress discussed the upcoming movie in a recent interview with IGN. Larter confirmed she will return as Claire Redfield, and told the website the new film will be the final installment in the Resident Evil series.
"How many movies have this kind of fan base and get to be made six times?" she said. "I think that's extraordinary. It's a total testament to [series star] Milla [Jovovich] and [director] Paul [W.S. Anderson]. I'm so grateful to them ... they've kept me along for the ride."
"I love that it's not seven men and one woman," she added. "I mean, these are two women, and they're not competing with each other. You know, there are such easy clichés these two could fall into, but this is definitely a female power movie."
The Resident Evil movies follow protagonist Alice (Jovovich) as she takes on the corrupt Umbrella Corporation. Claire (Larter) is a zombie apocalypse survivor who joined Alice in her fight in Resident Evil: Extinction (2007) and Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010).
"I am held to secrecy, but what I can tell you is that the script is amazing," Larter shared. "They're really wrapping up the whole series, so that just makes it a little more poignant ... I think the fans are just going to be beyond excited."
Jovovich and Anderson, her husband of six years, have collaborated on five prior Resident Evil movies, with Anderson as either director or producer. The 39-year-old actress shared a behind-the-scenes photo for The Final Chapter in July, and will begin filming in the coming weeks.
