The team behind the wildly popular soundtrack for the 2013 animated movie Frozen has reunited for the new song "Making Today a Perfect Day."
The track, which can be heard in the new animated short film Frozen Fever, is now available exclusively on iTunes. Featuring the vocals of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad, the song was penned by Oscar-winning, husband-wife songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
In Frozen Fever, Elsa and Kristoff [played by Menzel and Groff] are planning to give Anna [played by Bell] her best birthday ever, but when Elsa catches a cold, her ice-creating powers may put more than just the party at risk.
"I think on some deep level, she knows she shouldn't be doing this party. She should be in bed. But Elsa is fierce and her love for her sister is fierce. So, the song has a really intense drive to it -- especially the piano," Lopez said in a statement.
"We wanted it to be that perfect sunny-afternoon song so that it fought against the situation that she's getting sick; that adds to the comedy," added Anderson-Lopez.
So, what was it like reuniting with the performers after the incredible success of the original film, which won the Oscars for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for "Let It Go?"
"I feel like we've been through something extraordinary together and that connection will never go away," Anderson-Lopez said.
