Stephen Amell stars in his first photo for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.
The 33-year-old actor sports a mask and wields a hockey stick as vigilante Casey Jones. Director Michael Bay, who produced the first film and will return for the sequel, tweeted the picture Friday.
In the Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird comics, Jones is an orphan whose parents and sister were killed by the Purple Dragon gang. The character teams up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to fight crime, and becomes a love interest for April O'Neil.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles premiered in August 2014, and earned $485 million at the box office. The movie featured Alan Ritchson as the voice of Raphael, with Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Jeremy Howard as Donatello and Pete Ploszek and Johnny Knoxville as Leonardo.
Megan Fox, who will reprise reporter April O'Neil for the sequel, was spotted with blonde hair on set Wednesday. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Half Shell will be directed by Dave Green (Earth to Echo), and open in theaters June 3, 2016.
Amell is best known for portraying DC Comics character Oliver Queen, aka Arrow, on The CW series Arrow and its spinoff, The Flash. The former is in its third season and airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET, while the debut season of The Flash broadcasts Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
