As the 42nd annual Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony creeps closer, host Tyra Banks talks to the Hollywood Reporter about what to expect from this year's event.
"I want to spice it up a bit," she says, "The great thing is the TV Academy wants to spice it up as well. I just want to have fun. I have a history of liking to poke fun at myself, so that's what we're going to do. We're going to 'fierce-ify' the Emmys."
Banks, 41, tells the magazine to expect humor but admits she's "not a comedian." "If I'm going to poke fun at somebody, it's going to be me because I am laughing with them, not at them."
The newly crop-topped supermodel says her hair is meant to exemplify Tyra 2.0, the "chic businesswoman." She tells the magazine that the decision to part with her long locks is "almost like shedding the supermodel even more."
"I've never hosted an Emmys or a big awards show, so there's lots of new things I'm doing."
Banks, 41, won two Daytime Emmy awards for The Tyra Banks Show in the past, and prepares to return to television with The FAB Life, Pop TV announced in a statement.
The Daytime Emmy Awards will be held at the Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California. The ceremony airs live on the Pop network Sunday, April 26 at 8 p.m. EDT.
