Algerian Tariq Teguia’s short and feature-length movies will be honoured at the 52nd Vienna International Film Festival, Viennale, which is taking place until November 6th, said organizers.
Feature-length movies “Gabbla” (2008) and “Roma wala Entouma” (2006) which participated the same year in The Venise Film Festival as well as short-length movies “Waiting Scraps” (1998) and “Haçla” (2002), best feature-length movie at the 2003 Marrakesh International Film Festival will be screened in the “In Focus” section.
Teguia’s latest opus, “Zanj Revolution” (joint Algerian, Lebanese, French and Qatari production in 2013) will be screened in the feature-length movies section in his presence, added the source without specifying whether the movie will compete in the Viennale competition.
Born in 1966, Tariq Teguia began his film career in Algiers with "Kech'mouvement", his first short-film produced in 1966 while working as photograph in the press.
Founded in 1960, The Vienna International Film Festival is the oldest festival of the 7th art in Europe and the most important cinema event in Austria.
