There’s more good news on the Stephen Colbert front today. First, he returned to his Comedy Central show Monday after a short absence to care for his 91-year-old mother, Lorna. And now Grand Central Publishing has announced it will release his children's book “I Am a Pole (And So Can You!),” the Associated Press reports. You may already be familiar with Colbert’s tale of a flag pole searching for his life’s purpose from his two-part interview with famed author Maurice Sendak. When asked by Colbert what it takes for a celebrity to write a book for kids, the “Where the Wild Things Are” author responded, “You’ve started already by being an idiot.” But after seeing “I Am a Pole,” Sendak admitted, “The sad thing is I like it.” He agreed to let Colbert use his opinion as a blurb on the book jacket. Grand Central Publishing released Colbert’s 2007 book “I Am America (And So Can You!)” and will publish his next work, “America Again: Re-Becoming the Greatness We Never Weren’t” in October. “I Am a Pole” will be released on May 8.
