Author Martha J. Buford wanted to write her autobiography, but she felt God led her in a different direction. The result is a book that is autobiographical, but contains poetry and short stories.
“Crossroad to Destiny” (published by AuthorHouse) is Buford’s story of the crossroads she has faced in her life. Her story starts in Buffalo, New York, and follows her as she provides an intimate look into her life. Buford says that through her poetry and short stories, readers will learn to love themselves. Each poem and short story is followed by a scripture from the Bible that will help illuminate the ideas shared in the book.
An excerpt from the poem “You’re Special”:
“What inspired me to write this book? I realized in
Dealing with your everyday life, you seem to fail to
remember that you are special.
In your own unique way,
Sometimes we have to go above and beyond to succeed
Never give up on your dreams.
Always remember that you are special.”
