A total of one million German tourists have visited Egypt in 2015, Egyptian Ambassador here Badr Abdel Aati said.
Speaking to MENA, the Egyptian envoy said contact has been maintained with relevant German sides to ensure the nonstop flow of German holidaymakers to Egypt.
Direct contacts have been made with the German foreign ministry, tourism chambers and transport ministry to ease travel measures and ensure that German tourists continue to flow into Egypt, Abdel Aati said.
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry had addressed the tourism file during his visit of Berlin last week, he said.
German officials were reassured about Egypt’s full commitment to apply all international standards and inspection measures to secure airports as well as cooperate with Germany in the field of training and expertise transfer to promote security at Egyptian airports, he added.
Egypt will be the guest of honor at the Regional Agricultural Exhibition which will take place in the German city of Augsburg early next month, he noted.
Egypt is making huge preparations to ensure a strong participation in ITB Berlin, the International Travel Trade Show, in March, he said.
