As many as 292 Egyptians returned home from Libya and 218 traveled to the North African country via Salloum crossing within the past 24 hours, said Marsa Matrouh Security Chief Hesham Lofty.
Out of all the returnees, 233 Egyptians came back legally, while the rest returned illegally, he noted in statements Tuesday.
Libya has been witnessing a rising insurgency by different rebel groups and militias and an increasing use of weapons since the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi's regime in 2011.
The attacks included the killing and injury of Egyptians working there across different parts of the country.
