Air Canada has inaugurated a new service between Toronto and Tokyo Haneda Airport.
Flights took off for the first time this week and will now operate every day, departing Toronto Pearson International Airport at 1300 and arriving at the Tokyo hub at 1455 the following day. The return service leaves Haneda at 1740, getting back into Toronto at 1640.
Air Canada will initially operate the route using a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, but from mid-July this will be upgraded to the airline’s brand new B787 Dreamliner.
“Air Canada is certain its customers, especially business travellers to Japan, will enjoy the option of flying to Tokyo Haneda airport,” said Benjamin Smith, executive vice president & chief commercial officer of Air Canada.
“It will also further strengthen our Toronto global hub, whose easy connection processes and shorter elapsed flying times make it ideal for travellers to and from the US northeast.”
The new service will run alongside Air Canada’s existing services between Toronto and Tokyo Narita Airport. The airline also operates to Narita from Calgary and Vancouver.
