Berlin - Arabstoday

Aiming to capitalise on the current interest in the UAE as a leading venue for meetings and events, Dubai-based Arabian Explorers will exhibit at IMEX in Frankfurt from May 21 to 23, to showcase its extensive travel and tourism services to a global audience. According to Managing Director Urs Stohler: “While emerging markets have been making the headlines, the majority of business in the MICE sector still comes from Europe and there is tremendous scope to increase this traffic, both from established markets such as the UK and Germany, and new growth areas like Scandinavia and Eastern Europe”. “Few years back, Dubai hotel rates and limited capacity dampened demand, but now with nearly 600 hotels in the city plus fabulous developments in other emirates such as Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah, we have an extensive inventory of rooms, meeting venues and other attractions to win the MICE business,” he said. “Moreover, Dubai is reinventing itself, with ambitious projects such as Mohammed Bin Rashid City featuring the world’s largest shopping mall, Universal Studios theme park and 100 hotels, and the Dubai Eye which will be the world’s tallest Ferris Wheel. “IMEX provides an ideal platform for us to promote these 21st century attractions, as well as cultural developments in Abu Dhabi such as the Guggenheim and Louvre galleries, along with the exceptional expansion of airports and airline access which makes the hosting of meetings and events in the UAE a viable option for European organisations.” Well known in the German market in particular, Arabian Explorers will use IMEX to cement relationships with the MICE contacts, travel professionals and the travel trade media among the expected 14,000 visitors.
