Crowds of up to 130,000 are expected to visit the Farnborough International Airshow over the next two days. Over 50 aircraft will be on static display across the weekend and together with a range of rides, interactive exhibits, prototype cars, flight simulators, extreme sports demonstrations and restaurants and cafes to suit every taste. The star of the show will be the 5-hour flying spectacular. This year sees two jet teams display – the Red Arrows and the Breitling Jet team – as well as other aerobatic treats from The Blades, solo pilot Mark Jeffries and the Breitling wing walkers. The roar and thunder of military fighter jets is sure to set hearts racing as they fly over Farnborough, and the opportunity to see the only flying Avro Vulcan is one not to be missed. Speaking about the show, Shaun Ormrod, Chief Executive at Farnborough International said, “It’s been an amazing start to the week and we’re now looking forward to the public weekend. We know people travel from all over the world to come to the Farnborough Airshow and we’re delighted to welcome them all. It may not be the best summer in terms of the weather, but with the Diamond Jubilee and London 2012 Olympics, we’re proud that the Farnborough Airshow will play its part in this historic season. Come rain or shine, we promise it will be a great day out. The show will be running this weekend as scheduled and for those visitors arriving by car we have plenty of hard standing car parking areas.”
