Attractions in the UAE have gone pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
In the capital, Mushrif Central Park turned on the pink lights in support of breast cancer awareness on Thursday night.
The community park, recently reopened after a six-week summer shutdown, will be entirely covered in pink lights at dusk every day throughout October.
A park official said, "The initiative is part of a coordinated effort for Mushrif Central Park to be truly at the heart of the Abu Dhabi community in every sense. This is the directive of the park's patron, Sheikha Shamsa Bint Hamdan Al Nahyan.”
Also in the city, the facade of the Anantara Eastern Mangroves hotel and spa will be illuminated in pink every evening throughout the month.
In Dubai, the 321-metre tall Burj Al Arab Jumeirah has once again launched their annual breast cancer awareness campaign by lighting the hotel's iconic sail pink.
In what has become an annual tradition, the hotel will turn pink each Thursday throughout the month, while hotel chefs will also be offering pink-hued creations to diners.
In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness month, a number of global landmarks are once again expected to participate in the worldwide illumination campaign.
Previous years have seen Britain's MI6 headquarters, Windsor Castle, London Tower, along with Toronto's CN Tower, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the Tokyo tower light up the night-time sky in pink.
Also in the UAE, the Sharjah Ladies Club will be marking Breast Cancer Awareness month with a series of activities, including beauty workshops and zumba classes.
