Customs at Beirut’s international airport thwarted early Thursday an attempt to smuggle a large amount of cocaine into Lebanon from Brazil. A Turkish man and his son – coming from Brazil via Qatar – were arrested at the airport after customs officials found 13 kilograms of cocaine concealed in their suitcases. The 46-year-old father - identified by his initials A.K. – and his son, 32, were being interrogated by airport security prior to their transfer to the police’s anti-narcotics department. Security sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the street value of the drugs was approximately $1.3 million. From DailyStar
