Dubai - Arabstoday

Boeing has partnered with Emirates airline and non-profit organisations to transport relief supplies on board its newly delivered 777-300ER to victims of the civil war in Somalia, the US planemaker said today in a statement. The two aviation companies joined hands with the non-profit global health and disaster relief organization AmeriCares and the UK-based international relief and development agency Muslim Aid. Nutritional supplements were distributed to about 50 settlements around the capital city of Mogadishu where nearly 100,000 citizens have sought refuge, Boeing said, adding that the relief shipment comprised 34,000 pounds (metric amount) of high-calorie supplement designed to provide nutritional and medical care to the severely malnourished people.
