London - QNA

British Airways owner International Airlines Group (IAG) is in talks with international airlines following Australian carrier Qantas' decision to sign a new partnership deal with the UAE's Emirates. According to British media reports IAG "is talking with a number of airlines about alternative options'. The termination of Qantas' partnership with IAG is effective end of March 2013. UK's The Telegraph today published an agency report which quoted IAG chief executive Willie Walsh saying, "We are ending the joint business on amicable terms and support Qantas' decision to work with Emirates. The world has changed since 1995 when the joint business started. This is a small part of our overall network and this move fits in with changes in our global strategy." The IAG will now focus on Asian market, the chief executive said.
