Brussels Airlines modifies its flights to West African countries affected by the Ebola epidemic.
From Thursday, flight crews will no longer stay in countries that are affected by the virus, the company confirmed. Formerly, Brussels Airlines staff spent overnight stays near Monrovia in Liberia.
According to a Brussels Airlines spokesman, staff will spend their overnight stay in other West African countries, including Senegal, Gambia and Cote d'Ivoire.
"We take into account the concerns of our people, hence this preventive measure," he said.
Brussels Airlines will continue to ensure its usual flights in the region, but a technical stop will be necessary, added the spokesman.
The Ebola has a fatality rate that can reach 90 percent, the infection is spread by direct contact with blood, body fluids or tissue of infected humans or animals.
