Korean Air will soon offer direct flights between the Republic of Korea's capital Seoul and Peru's capital Lima, Peruvian Trade and Tourism Minister Jose Luis Silva said Thursday."In the first phase that starts next week, there will be one weekly flight between Lima and Seoul," Silva said, adding that the first three scheduled flights will operate on Dec. 8, 15 and 22.He also said the frequency of Korean Air's direct flights will increase gradually. So far, Lima could be reached by Korean Air via the connecting flights Seoul-Los Angeles-Miami-Lima. The new direct flights will be operated by a Boeing 747-400 aircraft.Silva said his ministry's target is to increase the number of international tourists to Peru to 3.6 million by 2016, and the new direct routes to the Asian tourist markets are key to achieving this goal.
