Authorities in Dubai have launched a new incentive scheme to develop more affordable hotel options in the emirate. Dubai Tourism is offering hoteliers a financial incentive to open three and four-star hotels, as part of its Vision strategy for 2020. The system will waive a 10% municipality fee placed on nightly room rates for four years from the date the permit to construct is granted. “Dubai is well on its way to achieving its Vision for 2020 but it is vital we continue to facilitate tourism with strategies such as this. The new incentive to increase our offering of three and four star hotels will look to increase the number of tourists arriving in Dubai whilst simultaneously opening the city up to a broader market, showcasing our affordable luxury product,” said Dubai Tourism’s UK & Ireland director Ian Scott.
